Sharrows have been marked on upper Wilson Street (the two-way section) and part of Coromandel Street. This route is part of the biking connection between Newtown and Kilbirnie via Crawford Road.
Lower Wilson Street (the one-way section) is now part of the Newtown Connections project. A contra-flow bike lane on this section of Wilson Street was considered as part of Kilbirnie Connections however Councillors agreed in March 2018 that any decisions should happen as part of developing safe biking routes in Berhampore, Newtown and Mt Cook.
We will be seeking feedback on a recommended package of routes for Newtown Connections in mid-2020.
